Hello there
I know what it’s like to go through the most vulnerable, tender moments of postpartum alone and I want to be there for you. You are not alone.
I found my hunger to nurture parents when I embarked on my own parenthood journey in 2022. I found myself pregnant in a new home and city, without an established support network. It was a very vulnerable time for me. I connected with several doulas to guide me through the birth of my child and care for me in the postpartum phase. The experience was humbling and eye-opening.
The ascension into motherhood was powerful and transformative for me. I found myself unable to return to my corporate career. I craved a different lifestyle from the one I had before I became a parent, one where I can make an intimate and significant impact on peoples’ lives.
We all possess inner strength and fortitude that we may not be aware of. I desire to draw out your inner confidence and support you while you learn to care for your little one.
More about me….
I moved to Whidbey Island in summer 2024, from South Seattle. I desired to spend more time outdoors and create a more slow-paced lifestyle for my child and myself. After living in cities (Seattle and San Francisco) for my adult life, the move to Island County represents a return to my rural roots.
In my spare time, I love to putter around my kitchen, garden and listen to audiobooks. I am an amateur seamstress and an avid thrifter. Mostly, I love to connect with friends and get lost in conversation over a nice glass of wine and good food.
Experience
My postpartum doula training is through Birth Arts International, and I logged ~560 hours of hands-on experience with clients in my first year active (2025). I have also completed Carrie Kenner’s Placenta Encapsulation Training course and am working on my Big Belly Services Placenta Encapsulator Certification right now.
I am CPR certified. I completed Snohomish County’s Safe Kids Car Seat Awareness Class.
I have ~1400 days of personal experience with breastfeeding. As a parent, I have experience with lactation consulting, tongue/lip ties, Torticollis, Plagiocephaly, and physical motor delays in a child under one years old.
Testimonials
“If you are looking for in-home postpartum care, a doula, or a mother’s helper, look no further. I have been working with Colleen for nine months now, and the care she provides is nothing short of extraordinary. She seamlessly transitioned from my postpartum doula into my trusted mother’s helper.
What truly sets her apart is her genuine care and deep passion for helping mothers. She has helped me in countless ways throughout our time together. During the critical first 40 days, she provided incredible guidance on postpartum nutrition, cooking highly specific, culturally informed recipes to help my body heal. Even now, nine months later, she still cooks for me and keeps our family nourished with her phenomenal meals!
Beyond her skills, she possesses a rare level of emotional intelligence. She is incredibly proactive, often anticipating my needs and figuring out exactly what support our entire family requires before we even know how to ask for it. She is detail-oriented, deeply caring, and seamlessly flexible when unexpected moments arise.
She is an absolute natural. Do not hesitate to book her—she will be a blessing to your family!”
